Diabetes is a disease that affects the lives of approximately 1.4 million people in Pennsylvania. Yet, an additional 325,000 individuals are still diagnosed. It is estimated that if current trends continue, 1 in 3 individuals will have diabetes by the year 2020. The importance of awareness has never been more important. 

The American Diabetes Association of Western PA works to provide advocacy and resources for those living in Western PA. The ADA is a nonprofit organization that organizes fundraising events to generate funds and awareness of this deadly disease. I am building a social media strategy for the ADA to help the organization reach more individuals in the community to participate in fundraising events and learn about diabetes and its effects on those suffering from it.
